Kick & Cadence is a small apparel company that wants to spread the love of running through better running t-shirts and swag.
Why?
Let’s be honest: the majority of race t-shirts are poorly designed and outright ugly. You’d only want to wear them on the privacy of your own treadmill. You’d think for the rising entrance fees you’d get a little bit more than stock fonts and clip art.
It’s too bad. I want to be proud of the races I’ve run and celebrate my passion for running. I might not always like running, but I definitely always like having finished a run.
Kick and Cadence combines my nerdy love of typography and design with my passion for fartleks and tempo runs to make better running clothes and accessories.
Who?

Kick & Cadence is owned and operated by me, Mike Donohue (@mikeswindow). I live with my family outside Boston where the running scene is alive year-round, but especially in April. Our favorite spot to watch the marathon is just after mile 10 in Natick.
My first love is running, but I also enjoy swimming, biking, and just being active. You can connect with me on Strava. You can also read more about being a Dad in the suburbs on my personal site.
Giving Back
As the Dad of two girls, I want to be an active and healthy role-model for my kids. I believe it’s important to support the causes that share the same values as we do.
I want my daughters to see the value of donating your time and money to a cause you believe in. Kick & Cadence donates a portion of profits to Girls on the Run, an international charity that strives to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
